Price the finished video, not the plan. Elai.io’s Creator plan is listed at $23/month on annual billing for 15 minutes and 1 user, while Team is $100/month on annual billing for 50 minutes. The catch is that edited re-renders deduct minutes again, so a rough approval process can change the real cost quickly.
Treat free plans as testing lanes. Vidnoz Free lets you experiment with avatar video at $0, with a 3-minute maximum per video, 720p export, standard processing and a watermark. That is useful for trying scripts and layouts, but it is usually too limited for client-facing publishing.
Credits are not interchangeable across tools. Vidnoz says standard generation costs 0.5 credits per second, while Expressive Avatar generation costs 2 credits per second, and unused credits do not transfer. Captions handles credits differently: Max is listed at $24.99/month with 500 credits, and unused credits can roll over only up to a 3× monthly balance.
Match the tool to the job. Vidnoz is the budget testing hook if you want a large avatar and template library, but watermarks and expressive-avatar credit burn can catch you out. Elai.io fits small L&D teams better, Captions suits short-form creator workflows, and D-ID is stronger for talking-photo, real-time or API-style exploration.
Count seats before you call a plan cheap. Elai.io Team includes 3 editors and 3 guests, plus 50 minutes per month, 4K Ultra HD, premium voices and custom images or fonts. Creator is cheaper, but its 1-user limit can become the bottleneck if scripts, reviews and exports involve more than one person.
Run the same 30-second script before buying. Test 16:9 and 9:16 where available, then score lip sync, facial expression, voice naturalness, edit speed, render time, watermark, export quality and credits or minutes consumed. One edit-and-re-render is the minimum realistic test.
